Gilles Goyette’s Lost in Light
A corner in the city is designated to be the constant: a backdrop where we can observe time passing.
Gilles Goyette took more than 15,000 photographs over the course of a year. The original installation that presented the work, in Gallery Arcturus (May 2 - June 13, 2015), was part of the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival. It included a selection of 1,500 frames show on a monitor in the main floor Genesis Gallery, and an original soundscore by Goyette.
The exhibition drew not only praise from visitors, many of whom returned, but was selected as one of the "Must See"
shows by Toronto's NOW Magazine.
House of ShAkE will be helping Gilles turn the collection into a film-of-stills, to be released to festivals and for sale online.
