"I no longer see the relevance of painting. Which is why I want to take it up again. Painting is dead, and the medium has nothing left to say on any subject, but since I am the kind of artist who would rather not say anything, painting speaks volumes to me.

 

‘Icarus’ takes the familiar myth and updates it to modern times. Here, the intrepid son of Daedalus is a three-legged astronaut working for the Hellenic Space Center. He has just returned from a gloriously successful space mission and is posing for his portrait. Gilles Goyette
